MSU Diamond Report — is a comprehensive document that is issued for loose polished diamonds with weight more than 0,20 ct. It contains information about diamond identity. A word ‘diamond’ in report means that a described stone is natural untreated diamond. MSU lab can issue a report for synthetic or treated diamond but in this case diamond’s nature will be clearly stated in the report according to World Federation of Diamond Bourses requirements. All four “C” – carat weight, clarity, color and cut – are measured and graded according to international grading system. Cut quality is described as proportions, symmetry and polish. Every report contains a digital picture of a stone and data for identification: measurements, a diagram showing internal and external features, and fluorescence description. Diamond report is not an appraisal report but it contains all essential information that a diamond’s value is based on. Advanced cut quality analyses are optional. Cut quality data can be obtained from OctoNus technologies and joint MSU and OctoNus cut study project. Any well cut diamond being accompanied with MSU Diamond Report with cut evaluation data can be sold at higher price.
