The proposed training programs have been available since 1996 in Russian. The programs designed to provide knowledge and develop skills which are directly required in daily practical work. MSU courses were highly recognised by the industry and market.

Colored Stones Program
Colored Stones Program is a classical gemological course. It comprises gemological identification and expert examination of coloured stones, synthetic gem materials, treated stones and imitations; grading and evaluation of rough, cut gemstones (loose and mounted); modern trends in world and domestic market with marketing analysis and legal fundamentals, current price levels. Duration of course is 6 weeks.

Diamond Grading Program
This course is similar to widespread diamond courses and comprises: general information about diamonds, their identification, grading and evaluation according to Russian and international grading systems, expertise of diamonds in pieces of jewellery, recognition of synthetic, treated and artificially coloured diamonds, certification, world and domestic market, effective law and customs regulations. Duration of course is 4 weeks.
